Community Sharing
At Lil Rooster Farm we strongly believe that addressing hunger requires a community to come together to help those in need. Lil Rooster Farm donates 10% of the lettuce we grow to two amazing local Chatham County organizations:
Chatham Outreach Alliance
CORA has a vision of a community without hunger. They provide food to individuals and families within our community who are in need during difficult personal economic periods. CORA currently fills 100% of client requests and turns no resident away - in 30 years they have provided almost 300 tons of food to families across Chatham County.
St Bartholomew's Episcopal
Church Community Lunch
The Community Lunch serves a free hot meal to walk-in guests every Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. They have a simple mission: to provide a healthy, appetizing meal at no cost to all who come hungry. They are truely a community effort. Volunteers do everything from cook, to general kitchen help, to collecting food from stores and farms, to baking desserts.
